Wild Hammock Camping on Snowdon December 2011

金曜日, 1月 27th, 2012

Another one of our mad winter exploits, this time captured on film. We often go Snowdon at the beginning of December and this time we wanted to prove we could setup a portable cinema high up a mountain – and we did!!!!!!! Hammocks can give you the best nights sleep you can have outdoors and have virtualy no impact on the environment – thanks to Neil at Tenth Wonder for all of his help. Please remember this adventure was undertaken by two crazy men who happen to have the right gear and the experience. We do not recommend more sane members of the human race to follow in our footsteps. Please like our video????????

Deadly Deception: General Electric, Nuclear Weapons, and Our Environment (VHS)

Deadly Deception exposes the terrifying human and environmental cost of GE’s nuclear weapons development. At highly secret facilities like Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in upstate New York, GE workers have been poisoned by radiation and asbestos. Downwind of the Hanford, Washington nuclear bomb plant, on a stretch of road known as “Death Mile” 27 of 28 families have suffered deadly cancers or birth defects. While GE managed the Hanford plant, GE knowingly released extensive amounts of radiat

Living on the Shores of Hawaii: Natural Hazards, the Environment, and Our Communities (A Latitude 20 Book) (Latitude 20 Books)

Rarely a day goes by in Hawai`i without the media reporting on environmental issues stemming from public debate. Will the proposed housing development block my access to the beach? Is the rising sea level going to cause flooding where I live? How does overfishing damage the reef? Is the water clean where I surf? Living on the Shores of Hawai`i discusses the paradox of environmental loss under a management system considered by many to be one of the most stringent in the nation. It reviews a wide

Crash Course: Chapter 1 – Three Beliefs & Chapter 2 – The Three E’s by Chris Martenson

日曜日, 12月 25th, 2011

Chapter 1 (Three Beliefs): Dr. Martenson states his three beliefs: massive change is upon us, that change may overwhelm our ability to respond, and that we do not lack the technology or understanding necessary to build a better future. The next 20 years are not going to be anything like the past 20 years. Chapter 2 (The Three “E”s): Understanding our current situation requires acknowledging that the Economy, Energy, and the Environment are all related; in short, that each “E” influences, and competes for our attention with the others. We have never simultaneously faced these issues at such levels, yet none of them can be solved in isolation. www.chrismartenson.com
